With Md firearms winding down Jason was able to connect on this toad of a sika hind off Taylors Island. Weighing in at 80lbs this gal will leave plenty of table fare. Break out your late season (pressured sika) strategies.. Rifles seasons presense has changed alot of activity of late but the the mild conditions and moon have played roles as well. Tonight we have a strong NW wind and rain storms, this should in fact leave us with some better conditions to hunt this week end. Thursday will be breezy pushing the rain out but cold weather will be left in its tracts. Expect higher than normal water levels but nothing like the past when we had SW winds keeping the water in. Sika stomachs should again be in control to take advantage of. Concentrate in thick cover and food. Good luck! Eric shot this nice stag and hind combo in the same sit on a Maryland rifle hunt last week. Unusually high temps kept most sika at bay and mosquitos high but Doc was in the right at the right time. Congrats on the kill Eric * Video to come :) |
